A non-Invasive Ventilator
Beniv is a multifunctional compact non-invasive ventilator designed for home use by considering the aesthetics of home appliances. The whole concept is designed to be available at a more reasonable price and with a better user interface. The numerous innovations in the details of the product help the device show it off as a reliable, convenient, and lean development. Designers made the interface as simple as possible for the user to interact as little as possible in an enjoyable way and does not feel like a medical device. The manufacturing side was also considered to have less impact on Mother Earth.
Needs and Criteria
Since the device was still under development, The team had to adapt to the motor box and body changes. It had to be compact and stable and the montage parts had to be as few as possible. to help the usability of the product.
The ventilator also required having a 4-inch display with a decent user interface and experience So even a patient with the least experience with medical devices can easily use the device.
Chalenges
Since there is a water heating element near the board, the container needs to be fully sealed so no humidity gets to the board. Because the product was supposed to be compact and all parts must be adequately put close to each other.
One of the great challenges of the product was making it possible for the device to work with the humidifier on or off. We came up with a mechanism for the lid to disconnect the humidity flow whenever possible.
User Interface
1- Humidification Pump
2- Seven segment Screen
3- Power Button
4- Glass Lid
The container
Now, to the amazing part. The Ventilator had to pump humidified and dry air whenever needed. Most designs came with a container near them which was useless when pumping dry air. Making the device bigger than it should be. So we came up with a solution. We made the lid symmetric, so if you remove it and turn it around, airflow disconnects from humidification and goes directly to the patient.
